  • Our very own Cindy Dietrich will be presenting at the North Carolina Middle School Conference on a technique of discipline that she uses in her class called "Time to Teach"--We are honored to have her represent our school!
  • A big Thanks to Lisha Vannoy and all the parents, students and teachers who helped with the 8th grade dance!  It was a huge success!
  • A big thanks to the 6th grade teachers and faculty who helped make our rising 6th grade open house night a big success--many parents have called and reported how impressed they were.
  • Thanks to Mr. Schnably (for his powers of persuasion)  and Dr. Martin (for  allowing us) to have our 8th grade Award Ceremony at Wait Chapel!  The setting is just perfect for our size and what we need that day.
  • Congratulations to the Icons team who helped raise money for "Jack and Hunter's Fund--Freak the Mighty"
  • Ms. Pickell's exchange students from South Korea reported many good things about our school!  They were impressed with the number of computers we have per classroom; (Mr. Downs is shocked at that!) the number of calculators; and the type of discussions that happen between teachers and students. (they were accustomed to teachers doing most of the talking)  They were also amazed at the seating arrangements :)
  • Finally we had a very nice compliment given to us my a teacher at Kernersville who was very impressed by our basketball coaches and their upbeat attitude and overall camaraderie with the athletes.  They said the way that Jefferson conducted itself was "refreshing"!

Mr. Fossa is our MVP for February 2011

Mr. Fossa was voted by our School Improvement team as Jefferson's Most Valuable Player for the month of February!  Mr. Fossa is one of those faculty members who is always willing to help his fellow colleagues.  Mr. Fossa coaches basketball (for free) and most recently has served on a school district committee to help determine ways the school district can save money next year through scheduling changes.  This is a huge commitment of time and effort, and we truly appreciate all that Mr. Fossa is doing to help our school and the students and teachers of Forsyth County!
